Huangshan (Huizhou) Travel Guide in China

  
Huangshan city is located in the southmost part of Anhui province, belonging to subtropical climate with a total area of 9807 square meters. Huangshan as a municipal city in 1987 was approved by the State Council of China. The former of Huangshan city was Huizhou, and currently administrates three districts, that is, Tunxi district, Huangshan District and Huizhou District and four counties (Shexian County, Xiuning County, Qimen County and Yixian County) as well as Huangshan Mountain Scenic Area. Toady the municipal government is located in Tunxi. Huangshan is one of city named after its mountain.
 

Huangshan city is a mountainous area strongly characterized by Eight-tenths Mountain, One-tenth Water and One-tenth Farmland. Huangshan city as the miniascape from the heaven looks like a long and colorful picture of cultural and natural landscape. Huangshan city has a long history. As early as 7000 year ago, at the late period of Chinese matriarchal clan society, the forefather lived and worked here. Huzhou style culture is always the proud of Huangshan citizens even the whole citizens of China. Huizhou-style culture is one of China’s most famous local cultures and comprised of many aspects in the aspects of philosophy, economy, history, medicine, science and workmanship. A large amount of talented people were born here. In the meantime, Xinan Painting School, Huizhou Inkstone, Huizhou Architecture, Huizhou Carving or Sculpture, Huizhou Inscription, Huizhou Opera, Huizhou Cuisine, Xinan Medicine and Huizhou Miniascape and so on all became glory all over China .

Tourism industry in Huangshan is vigorous and rising. In 1979, Deng Xiaoping visited Huangshan city and suggested to try our best to make Huangshan a famous tourism card of China. Currently in many aspects, Huangshan city is advanced and famous in the world. In fact, Huangshan Mountain indeed is the essence of Huangshan city tourism. Its marvelous view and the heaven-like environment give the visitors the feeling of excellence. In 1990 it was ranked into the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List.
 
 
Huizhou, anciently called Xian’an, was validated to be one county 2200 years ago. In 1987, State Council formally changed this region to be Huangshan city which administered Tunxi District, Huizhou District and Huangshan District and four counties like She County, Xiuning County, Yi County, and Qimen County. Additionally, Huangshan Scenic Area is also in its administration. The total coverage area is 9807 square kilometers and its population is nearly 1,500,000. Huizhou was the important ancient cultural and economic area in China.   
 
 
  
The famous businessmen coming from this place ruled China’s business circle for more than 300 years. There is a saying：it is not a town without businessmen from Huizhou. Besides, the Hui academy is one of three important and conspicuous studies in China (the other two are Tibetan academy and Dunhuang academy). Huixue is roughly comprised of business, Hui drama (the origin of Peking Opera), Huizhou cuisine, Huizhou carvings, Xian’an Confucian philosophy study, Xian’an medicine, Xian’an painting, Xian’an seal, Xian’an architecture and bonsai with Huizhou style.
